I'm the Proud Daddy (Pdaddy) of Susan Brown. I was there when she was born in our home in Alpine, Utah. She was delivered in our bedroom by midwives. Her Mother had also been a midwife. Her Mother handed her to me shortly after she was born and she has been my baby girl every since. Her Mother (Shirley) got very ill when she was 10 yrs. old and died when she was 16. We have always been close and music has always been a part of life for us. Shirley started Susan in violin lessons when she was 4 years old. When she was about 6 Shirley bought an upright bass and told me I had to learn to play it. Our daughter Leslee is a great vocalist and guitar player and her daughter McKenna plays the mandolin. Shirley put us together as a family band (we named it the "Charley Brown" band after her. We played at various venues around Utah for nearly 10 years. Shirley died in 2000 and we played our last season in 2002 when we were able to play in Park City, Utah at a venue during the winter olympics. Susan moved to Nashville not long after that and has very successful in following her dream of having a career in music.
